Ball valve installation

Ball valve installation: 

1. Need to be confirmed that the pipeline and valve operation has been cleaned.  

2. the actuator of the ball valve operation according to the size of the input signal to drive the stem rotation: forward rotation 1/4 (90°), the ball valve is closed.  The ball valve is opened when the reverse rotation is 1/4 turn (90°).  

3.When the arrow indicating the direction of the actuator is parallel to the pipeline, the valve is opened;  Valve closed when arrow is perpendicular to line.

Ball valve maintenance:  

Having a longer service life and maintenance-free time will depend on several factors: normal operating conditions, maintaining a harmonious temperature/pressure ratio, and reasonable corrosion data 

Note: when the ball valve is closed, fluid pressure still exists in the valve body 

Before servicing, remove line pressure and position valve in open position  

Disconnect the power supply or air source before maintenance  

Disconnect the actuator from the support before maintenance 

1. Packing lock  

If packing culvert is in small leakage, must lock stem nut.  

Note: Do not lock, usually lock 1/4 ring to 1 ring, leakage will stop.

2. Replace the seat and seals 

A. Remove    

Leave the valve in a half-open position to flush the inside and outside of the valve for possible hazardous materials.  

Close ball valve, remove bolts and nuts from both flanges and remove valve completely from piping.  

Remove drive – actuator, connecting bracket, anti-loose washer, stem nut, butterfly shrapnel, Gernan, wear disc, stem packing in sequence.  

Remove cover connection bolts and nuts, separate cover from body, and remove cover gasket.  

Make sure the ball is in the “off” position to remove it easily from the body and remove the seat.  

Gently push stem down through body center hole until fully removed, then remove O-ring and packing ring.  

Note: Use caution to avoid scratching stem surface and packing seal of valve. 

B. Reassemble 

Clean and inspect parts under inspection. Replacement of seat and bonnet gaskets and seals with spare parts kit is highly recommended.  

Assemble in reverse order of disassembly.  

Cross – lock flange bolts with specified torque.  

Tighten nuts with specified torque.  

After installing the actuator, rotate the valve stem to drive the spool to rotate the corresponding input signal to open and close the valve.  

If possible, seal pressure test and performance test valve according to standard after piping installation.
